DVR Security Camera
A security system would not be complete without the ability to record the views from a well placed security camera. There are a number of different ways to record the information for viewing at later times if necessary. One of the old methods was the use of VCR tapes. VCR tapes are becoming outdated with all of the new technology that now available.

One of the options is the use of a DVR. A DVR is a digital video recorder. The feed from the camera is digitally saved to a hard disk. These disks can be wired to a TV, computer, or stand alone systems. The DVRs allow a person to access the information stored on the disk through a computer or viewed on a TV screen. The technology allows for a clearer digital picture.
DVR technology makes it much faster and easier to view a particular time frame. There are no worries about the tape being warped or causing blurred images because of a poor quality or overused video tape. The DVR images can be saved to files on a computer for safety. The images can quickly be emailed to authorities if needed as well. Some of the systems include the technology for cell phone monitoring as well.
A DVR allows a user to still record while reviewing images from an earlier feed. There will not be any blank times between tape changes or if a tape runs out. Most DVR equipment can be upgraded with extended memory for even more storage space. These systems can hold a lot of information in one very small area. About 18-24 days of continuous recording from 4 different cameras can be stored without running out of space. It is possible to turn down the frames per second to get more storage space, but this will result in poorer quality images. A motion sensor camera can also be a great way to help you save storage space.
A typical DVR can record feed from four different cameras. If you plan on using more cameras you will need additional DVR systems or purchase one of the larger systems. These DVR systems guarantee you will have important video feed available at any time. There is no need to worry about a tape being stolen or a bad guy getting precious evidence of a crime.
